I was honored and thankful to have shown my VR Artwork at the ExplorAsian Celebrations hosted by (VAHMS) Vancouver Asian Heritage Month 2022.
Home is where the 'heart' is. (Diversity and Inclusion)
I was very please to have been able to showcase my asian heritage (Ipoh, Malaysia). This image depicts my family and was painted in Google Tiltbrush.
My uncle was one of the best Char Kway Teoy Hawker “chefs" in Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur. I am told that people flocked from across the country just to eat at his humble stall. The gift of cooking was nurtured by my great great grandmother. She had very little education but was a master storyteller and “kampong” (village) matchmaker. She was infamous for her curries and Malaysian cuisine as she was for her tall tales of bandits, fugitives and folklore.
It was the third art show of the month and I was pleased to have had the opportunity to share it.
