Self Portraits for Practice
Painting self portraits is NOT easy. This is one that I did staring into a mirror. I was so tired of holding a smile for so long that I just turned the whole thing around and started with a grimace. I painted this portrait with a mouse because I didn't have a wacom at the time.
If you know what you're doing, you can pretty much paint with anything... including a mouse. It was a just a test study but what I discovered was that painting with a mouse forced me to conserve brush strokes and to learn how to block values in quickly.
